A 37 year old man from the Stellenbosch area has been arrested on charges of armed robbery, attempted murder and illegal possession of a fire arm and ammunition.
It is alleged that the suspect entered a shop and pointed a firearm at cashiers demanding them t hand over all cash that was available. According to a press statement the man then ‘ received the money stormed out of the shop yielded his fire arm and fired one shot before fleeing the scene on foot.”
The suspect’s arrests follows quick response by the police after the business had alerted them. The police found the suspect in Khayamandi with the exact amount of cash that was stolen at the business.
The 37 year old man will appear in Stellenbosch Magistrate court on Monday.
