Two Cape Town brothers were burnt to death on Sunday when their shack caught alight in an informal settlement in Muizenberg.
“Police and the fire department were on the scene and the fire was extinguished,“ says police spokesperson, Inspector Bernadine Steyn.
Steyn explains that the cause of the fire is being investigated and an inquest docket has been opened. The two brothers are aged 28 and 29.
This incident comes just after two children were burnt beyond recognition in the Eastern Cape on Saturday when the hut they were sleeping in caught fire while their mother was out.
