The Cape High Court judgement on the Kloofnek bus accident, is a disappointment for Western Cape Education Minister Cameron Dugmore.
Three primary school learners and the driver of the bus died two years ago on an excursion to Table Mountain. The owner was investigated for culpable homicide and was cleared by the judge on all charges.
"The Western Cape Education Department respects the court and their decisions. Nevertheless I am deeply disappointed by the judgement," says Western Cape Education MEC Cameron Dugmore.
In the accident, about 40 learners were injured. The bus involved was one of the busses arrying about 130 children on the excursion.
The MEC will set up a meeting with the school and the parents as he says he understands their pain.
