The two girls 10 year old Phelokazi Bara and 8 year old Afikile Mthini from Nyanga who were reported missing early this week after they went missing on Friday 2007-10-30, were found unharmed on Friday afternoon.
“It is alleged that Social Workers who found the children on their own last week near the Caltex Garage at Old Crossroads took the children to a place of safety,” says Constable Siphokazi Mawisa.
According to Mawisa the matter was never reported to the police until the people at the place of safety saw the media reports of the two children and alerted the police.
“We wish to express our appreciation to the members and volunteers who assisted in the search,” says Mawisa.
