A 13 year old boy’s body was found on a beach in Maccassar on Monday afternoon.
National Sea Rescue Institute members, police and metro ambulance and rescue services responded on the scene.
“On arrival a boy was found on the beach. CPR efforts were initiated on scene, but after all efforts to resuscitate him were exhausted he was declared dead,” says NSRI spokesperson Craig Lambinon.
“We are appealing to parents not to let their children go swimming unless they have responsible adult supervision. They should go swimming where lifeguards are on duty and at all times not to go too deep into the surf,” says Lambinon.
In a sea rescue emergency you can contact 082 911.
