The Getstetner Diamond Eagles are ready to regain the Supersport Series title they shared with the Nashua Dolphins in the first season of franchise competition in 2005.
The Diamond Eagles took a very big step towards the Supersport series trophy when they beat the Bizhub Highveld Lions yesterday.
The Eagles now top the log by 16 points to the Nashua Dolphins who are in second place, the Chevrolet Warriors third and the Nashua Cape Cobras in fourth place.
“This will be the Eagles first chance to win the trophy outright as a franchise since the last time they shared it with Nashua Dolphins,” says Cricket South Africa’s Michael Owen-Smith.
The competition resumes on 10th January and continues for three straight consecutive weeks until the end of that month.
