Two men were arrested in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in Platteklip Street, Belhar on Sunday evening.

The incident happened after an argument broke out inside a house between three men and residents inside. The three men then left the house being pursued by the owner of the house and a friend.

According to police spokesperson Bernadine Steyn, the men then fired several shots at the leading group.

“A 16 year old male from Belhar sustained two bullet wound to his left leg, and a 30 year old male also from Belhar sustained a bullet wound to his right arm and a graze wound to his chest,” says Steyn.

The 16 year old victim has since been released from hospital while the 30 year old male is still in hospital in a stable condition.

“The two suspects were arrested on the scene for attempted murder, and will appear in the Bellville Magistrate’s court today," says Steyn.
