Police in search of alleged Kirstenbosch rapist

Police are in search of an unknown male believed to be in his thirties for allegedly assaulting and raping a woman in Kirstenbosch on February 1.

According to police the victim, a doctor at Kingsley hospital, went for jog at about 7:30am along Kirstenbosch gardens towards Cecelia forest when the attack occured.

“She was attacked by an unknown black male who assaulted her with a rock and threatened her with a knife. He tied her up, undressed and raped her and left her for dead,” says Wynberg police sexual offence unit Inspector Frederiecks.

The suspect is dark brown in complexion has an average build and approximately 5feet tall. He was last seen wearing something similar to a green disposable theatre cap on his head, brown/beige long chino pants and a brown necked t-shirt.
