On Monday and Tuesday the City of Cape Town will be hosting its first conference on Early Childhood Development (ECD) at the Civic Centre in Cape Town. According to Mayoral Committee member for Economic, Social Development and Tourism Simon Grindrod, early childhood is the most rapid period of development in a human life.

“The City is hosting the conference because it would like to obtain the best in early childcare for its residents. The conference is a fantastic opportunity for dialogue and we are hopeful that it will produce positive results for early childhood development in our city,” says Grindrod.

The conference will deal with how ECD has increasingly become the focus of the City. Those attending the conference will be provided with guidelines and information to develop successful ECD programmes and projects that will benefit children and families in communities throughout Cape Town.
