On Monday residents of Joe Slovo are heading to the Cape High Court once again.
The community has been trying to avoid an eviction notice that the Department of Housing has served them so that development of the N2 gateway project can be completed.
Cape High Court Judge President John Hlophe is to rule on the eviction which was sent to the residents by the housing department and Thubelisha homes.
“We the community of Joe Slovo will go the High Court and wait in anticipation what Judge Hlophe will rule,” says Joe Slovo task team member Mzwanele Zulu.
According to the anti-eviction campaign, residents of Joe Slovo have been refused permission to march in Cape Town as another march involving Mfuleni residents is scheduled.
The residents have however been granted access to the Cape High Court.
