The City of Cape Town says that the month of March is going to be devoted to events and activities, in celebration of Water Week. National Water Week is to commence March 17 - 23 under the theme “Water, sustaining life, enabling growth”.

Director for Water and Sanitation, Sipho Mosai says that Water Month provides the city with an opportunity to highlight its commitment to improve services and reduce water losses.

“We want to provide Cape Town residents with the opportunity to learn more about water and energy saving devices and innovations,” says Mosai.

Mosai says from March 17 – 20, awareness and education presentations on how to use water efficiently will held in Khayelitsha, Nyanga, Gugulethu and Langa.

“Car wash facilities and hairdressing salons will be visited and water saving equipment will be distributed. A holiday club event for 400 learners from Mitchells Plain schools will be held from March 25 – 28 to complete the month,” he said.
