The Executive Mayor of the City of Cape Town Helen Zille has engaged legal advice as to weather she should apply for urgent court interdict during this week to stop the Erasmus Commission from releasing an interim report.
The commission was put on hold by Zille’s appeal.
The Mayor reiterated that the commission was unlawful, unconstitutional and a waist of taxpayer’s money.
“We say that it should proceed in the criminal courts,” says Zille.
This is after Premier Ebrahim Rasool asked for the interim report to assist determine whether the information was compelling enough to carry on the duty of the commission.
The commission was initiated last year by the Western Cape provincial government to look at what they refer to as Spygate saga.
