More than 1000 people in the Kosovo informal settlement in Philippi, were displaced on Sunday when heavy rains hit the area resulting in floods.
“We have supplied the one – thousand – five – hundred people with cooked food and we will be supplying brunch and supper for them today,” says Alia Limbada spokesperson for Mustadafin Foundation.
According to the Cape Town Disaster Risk Management spokesperson, Charlotte Power says the condition in Kosovo is still bad.
"The flood victims are now staying with their families," she explain.
Power goes on to say the Disaster Risk Management has supplied them with clothes, blankets and meals.
“The Roads and Storm Water Department are doing upgrades in the area,” she added.
