On Friday afternoon 32 year old Nelson Figuero an Angolan citizen was shot dead during an Armed Robbery in Nyanga.
"Two Angolan citizens were walking in Ntsikili Street, Browns farm, when they were approached by two men on foot.The men, one armed with a firearm and the other with a knife, demanded cell phones and money from the victims,” says Bernadine Steyn police spokesperson.
According to Steyn after the suspects took the money, one suspect allegedly fired a single shot at one of the victims, wounding him in the stomach.
“Figuero died on his way to hospital. The suspects fled the scene on foot and are still at large,” she added.
Police have opened a case of Murder and Armed Robbery for investigation.
