Five suspects were arrested on Monday at about 12:30, when Bishop Lavis SAPS were on a routine patrol when they received a complaint of a suspected stolen vehicle in Chestnut Street, Bonteheuwel.
As they were approaching Chestnut Street, five males were busy stripping off a blue Ford Sierra.
An investigation revealed that the vehicle was positively stolen in Delft. Five suspects were arrested for being in possession of a stolen vehicle, further investigation lead to the recovery of two other vehicles (Green Toyota Tazz stolen from Wynberg and a blue Datsun Bakkie stolen from Delft area).
All these vehicles were stolen during June month 2008.
The five suspects are a 20-year-old from Manenberg, a 23-year-old from Delft, a 24-year-old from Hanover Park, a 29-year-old from Belhar and a 30-year-old from Manenberg.
These suspects will appear on Wednesday in the Bishop Lavis Magistrate Court.
