Ten–year-old girl Diana Maponye, who was reported missing on Friday, has been found unharmed at a friend’s home in Manenberg.
“She is still with her friend at the moment, but I just spoke with a captain from Nyanga Police Station, who assured me that the girl is doing fine,” says Dessie from the Pink Ladies.
According to Dessie, Diana is apparently afraid of going home.
“She went to a friend and convinced her friend not to send her home, but the friend’s mother went to Manenberg Police Station to report the matter - and fortunately the good sergeant there knew that there was a little girl missing,” she explains.
Diana's mother, Glory Maponye, has been informed that her daughter is safe.
“I have no words to thank Bush Radio, Pink Ladies and SAPS for their support in helping to find my daughter,” she said from a noisy taxi.
