The Philippi police are requesting the assistance of the public in the investigation of a murder that occurred on an open field near Landsburg Walk, Hanover Park.
At the weekend the body of an unidentified man was found by two females that were passing by. The deceased had a copper wire around his neck and an open wound to his head, possibly inflicted with a brick. It seems that his shoes were taken.
The police have opened a case of murder for investigation and anyone with information can contact the investigating officer, Inspector Carleigh Noemdo at the Philippi Police station on (021) 690 1523 or (021) 690 1500.
