# Forty Cape Town extreme swimmers dared the icy cold Atlantic when they raise funds for the women with cerebral Palsy.
The race was too dangerous as the swimming was going to take place from a buoy 250 metres off Camps Bay but instead the swimmers raced from one end to another.
Western Cape Cerebral Palsy Association CEO Hilary Lane thanked the swimmers and reminded people that from August 24 to 31 is Cerebral Palsy Awareness Week
“The forty swimmers braved up against the cold Atlantic water actually raised over 20 thousand rand for us by swimming and sponsorship”
Lane added that “the association looks after adults with cerebral palsy, so we have a home for them and these funds are needed to take some of our people to the theatre and an outing last week.
