On Sunday morning Police were dispatched to Strandfontein Beach, where they discovered a 34 year old man with several stab wounds to his face and upper body.
SAPS spokesperson Joe Wilson says, “It is alleged that the victim drove his white Toyota Tazz with registration number CA 754 919 on the Main Road in Delft. When he stopped next to the road he was approached by five men who forced him at knife point to one of the other seats. The suspects got into the vehicle and drove in the direction of Mitchells Plain.”
The victim was stabbed several times and left at the beach.
Police reported that the suspects fled with the victim's vehicle and are still at large and the victim is currently in a critical condition.
Police have opened a case of Attempted Murder and Hijacking for investigation.
Anyone with information on the two incidents is requested to contact the Investigating Officer, Constable Eagan Knoop at the Delft Police station on (021) 954 9000.
