The Mitchell’s plain community groups have decide to form their own neighbourhood watch. This follows reports by the police that the newly formed neighbourhood watch is not legal.
Mitchell’s plain police spokesperson, Harry Brickles said that the body is not a legitimate body and should not be patrolling the streets. He also added that the community should not co-operate.
Mitchell’s plain’s Community Policing Forum chairperson ,Abby Isaacs said that ,the process of the formation of a neighbourhood watch was started in 2004 where all role player agreed that the should be one community neighbourhood watch.
He added that it is the some people who want to form a new neighbourhood watch and who refuse to be screened by the police.
