Kenneth Blaau, a fisherman from Lagebaan has opposed this application on behalf of all traditional fishers. He is supported by Masifundise Development Trust and Legal Resource Centre.
Jackie Sunde from the Masifudise Development Trust said the will organise a protest to picket outside the Cape high court, to show support to the fishermen’s. She added that the fishermen are determined to fight this action and asset their right to practice their lively hoods because most families have been fishing crayfish all their lives.
