DRD Gold in Blyvoor has claimed the life of another mineworker last night.
The miner slipped into a skip tip and died.
The National Union of Mineworkers has passed on their condolences to the family and said DRD Gold should account for the miner’s death.
NUM’s Lesiba Seshoka said the skip tip is a place where rocks are thrown into.
“We call on the employer, DRD Gold, to account for this miner’s death. We believe there should have been a safety belt to prevent this incident from happening.”
