Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma will later today join United Nation’s Secretary General Ban Ki- moon in addressing the UN’s first international day of non-violence.
Foreign Affairs' Ronnie Mamoepa explains says “the UN”s first international day of non-violence is celebrated on Ghandi’s birthday in order to commemorate his philosophy of non-violence as a foundation of resolving conflict, which was developed during his stay in stay in South Africa, in the fight against the system of Apartheid.”
Minister Dlamini-Zuma and UN General Secretary Ban Ki-moon will be joined by the President of the UN General Assembly as well as Indian’s Minister of External Affairs in addressing the government in New York.
