The City of Cape Town in conjunction with Golden Arrow is set to launch a new Park n Ride express bus service between Helderberg and Cape Town.
The launch will take place on the 20th of this month.
The aim of this new initiative is to alleviate traffic congestion and provide a less expensive and more convenient way of travelling to and from Cape Town.
Golden Arrow spokesperson, Vuyisile Mdoda, said the initiative makes sense as it will benefit the commuters quite immensely.
“Instead of taking close to two hours to travel between Somerset West and Cape Town, passengers will take less than an hour to get there and if you look at the costs, it’s a massive saving in terms of money and in terms of time.”
Mdoda said the bus route will be from Main Road in Somerset West with additional pick up points before the bus gets on the N2.
“The first stop will be in the main road in Mowbray.”
The Park-n-Ride concept will have a secure point where commuters can be dropped off or safely park their vehicles while travelling to Cape Town.
Further details can be obtained from the MTI Toll free number on 0800 65 64 63
