At quarter-past-eleven yesterday NSRI Shelly Beach were activated following reports of red distress flares being fired from a capsized Skippy Boat, approximately 300 metres off-shore of Oslo Beach, Port Shepstone, with reportedly three people on bored.
NSRI spokesperson Craig Labinon says “the NSRI launched their rescue craft Caltex Endeavour and Hibiscus Medivac and Netcare 911 ambulance service responded. They found that all three men had been picked up by two private boats, Fish On and So Lucky which were both in the area at the time also responded to assist. All three men were safe and uninjured; the NSRI managed right the boat and two NSRI rescuers were put on bored the boat and they towed the boat to shore.”
