A suspect was arrested after attempting to rob a man at his house in Foundry Road in Salt River earlier this morning.
The suspect was arrested on charges of attempted murder and attempted armed robbery.
Two suspects fled the scene on foot when police arrived.
Sergeant Hilton Malila said the two suspects allegedly threatened the victim and demanded.
“When the victim told them he does not have any money, one of the suspects took out a firearm and fired a single shot at the complainant, wounding him in his foot.”
The victim is in a stable condition.
One of the suspects is still at large and anyone with information can contact the Investigating Officer, Inspector Lee Visagie at the Woodstock Police station on (021) 442 3112.
“The 34 year-old arrested suspect is expected to appear in the Cape Town Magistrate's court on Wednesday.”, Malila explained.
