This morning today at about 09:05 an Armed Robbery occurred at a cell phone shop in Main Road, Rondebosch.
Inspector Lyndon Sisam says two males one armed with a firearm walked into the shop and ordered the employees to go to the back. The suspect ordered them to point out the safe and to hand over the keys to the cell phone cabinets.
Cell phones were put in a grey bag by the suspects after which the employees were locked in an office.
No shots were fired and nobody sustained any injuries during the incident.
Sisam added that the suspects fled the scene in a white Honda Ballade direction Mowbray.
“Athlone Police responded to the radio broadcast on the fleeing suspects and stopped the vehicle on the N2 highway at the Duinefontein turn-off. Two of the four occupants were apprehended and two fled on foot. They are still at large.”
