City of Cape Town launches new road safety plan

The City of Cape Town’s Traffic Services together with the Metro Police and other law enforcement agencies have stepped up its plans for a safer Festive Season by launching the Festive Season Safety Plan today.

Spokesperson for Traffic Services Merle Lourens says that this programme is being put into action in order make people more aware on the road.

“This programme will focus on road traffic safety issues such as enforcement, drunk driving, check points for driving licences and roadworthiness of motor vehicles,” said Lourens

Councillor Dumisani Ximbi, Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security, as well as Heathcliff Thomas, Acting Executive Director of Safety and Security will all be attending this launch.
