Police investigate and murder inquest in Philippi

Police investigating a case where a couple was involved in a murder-suicide which took place Tuesday evening at block 9, Ezinyoka, Phillipi.

On the police arrival they found a married couple in the bedroom of their home.
Both the 28 year old husband Bulelani Lufuta and his 23 year old wife had a gunshot wound to the head.

His wife Thabisa Ncaphancapha died on the scene.

The husband was taken to hospital where he later passed away. It is alleged that the couple had an argument during which the husband fired a shot at his wife after which he turned the firearm on himself.

The firearm allegedly used during the incident, is said to have been confiscated. The serial number had been filed off.

Nyanga SAPS Spokesperson Ntomboxolo Sitshitshi said “police are investigating a case of murder and inquest”
