Members of the anti-war coalition picketed at Salt River circle early this morning, in protest of the Israeli attacks on the Gaza strip. Protestors have appealed to the South African public to boycott all Israeli as well as American products.

They have also invited community members to join in the picketing, protestors say will only come to an end when cease fires on the Gaza strip have ended.

Bush radio went to Salt River circle to hear what they had to say
Zafiah Johadien said the reason she was protesting is about “all the people who passed away from Palestine”

Moonira Peters said “we are going to continue picketing here in Salt River until there is a complete ceasefire and the withdrawal of troops from Gaza region”

Aikam Fauzier said “I’m against the genocide. I’m asking on the Egyptian government to open the borders to save lives of people. What hypocrisy is this?”

“We all know that America is behind the killing of innocent people and we say no to this genocide and I’m also calling to all justice loving people to boycott Coke and all Israeli products”

Ishmael Fatah said “the oppressed people of this world, if they are going to keep silent about what is happening there, it is in the favour of the Capitalist system of those who control the world.

“This is to marginalise the oppressed poor people and if they are going to silence freedom fighters the whole world is going to suffer”

Moonira Peters said that all the people must fight against the “apartheid” of Palestine they did not like it then and “we do not like it know” and must also support pickets countrywide.
