The Western Province Health Department and Cape Town City Health say seven close contacts of two confirmed cholera patients in the city are being closely monitored.
A 29-year-old woman and a 42-year-old woman, both from Khayelitsha, are improving after being diagnosed with the disease.
Western Cape director communications Faizah Steyn says as soon as there was a cholera outbreak in Zimbabwe, the provincial health department warned its workers to be vigilant.
“The patient are in a stable condition and don’t need any hospitalization.”
Steyn says the situation around the cases has been contained, as no further cases have been reported
