President Kgalema Motlanthe says the country will go to the polls on the 22nd of April. In his reply to the State of the Nation debate in Parliament, Motlanthe said this would be the date of the country’s fourth national and provincial election.
But he emphasised that the actual proclamation of the date would be done later.
