Voter registration centres countrywide re-opened this morning to accommodate South Africans who are eligible to vote in this year’s general elections.
The Independent Electoral Commission is holding its final round of voter registration this weekend.
Those who want to add their names to the voter’s roll have been urged to make use of the registration weekend to do so.
Polling stations around the country will be open from 8 in the morning until 5 pm today and tomorrow.
The IEC says once President Kgalema Motlanthe proclaims the election date next week and it is published in the government gazette, the voters roll will close, and citizens who have not registered will be unable to vote.
