During the early hours of this morning, the Woodstock police were called out to Penzance Street Observatory to investigate a shooting incident, where a 40 year old male person were shot and killed.
Sergeant Hilton Malila says on arrival we discovered a body of a 40 year old man with a single gun shot wound to his head, lying inside the Belazita flats situated in Penzance street Observatory.
“It’s been alleged that the deceased was shot once in the head, after a heated argument erupted between the deceased and the suspect.”
Sergeant Malila says a preliminary investigation revealed that another male person sustained a gun shot wound in his leg, and is in a stable condition in a nearby hospital.
“The motive for the shooting is unknown at this stage, and the police are pursuing all the possible leads to arrest the suspect.”
“The deceased is known as Jerome Cloete, 40 years old.”
