A cash-in-transit guard was shot and killed in an alleged cash-in-transit heist at the corners of Malta Road and Goldsmith Road and Lower Main Road in Observatory yesterday.
“The guard was declared 'dead on arrival' by paramedics, it appeared as though the guard sustained a gunshot wound to the face. A second guard was treated for emotional shock and taken by ER24 ambulance to Cape Town Medi-Clinic,” said ER24’s Tristan Wadeley
The exact details of the incident were unclear to paramedics on the scene but the SAPS were in attendance with crime scene investigators, Life Hospital ALS Unit was also in attendance.
