The South African Weather Service has good news for Cape Town residents battling flooding after the weekend’s heavy downpours.

Very little rain is forecast for the week ahead, giving people the chance to dry out their belongings.

However, it will remain bitterly cold and wet tonight and into tomorrow as the last of the huge cold front that brought the rain moves away.

The respite is expected to be brief however, as more rain is expected by next weekend. More than a thousand people are destitute after the rains of the past weekend and Disaster Management is monitoring the situation
