A young man was left wounded after a shoot out between police and suspects of an alleged robbery of a shop in Main Road, Mowbray on Monday evening. ER24’s media liaison, Tristan Wadeley said that the man sustained minor injuries.
“The 21-year-old male sustained a minor flesh wound to his left upper leg, believed to be caused by a bullet from the shoot out,” said Wadely.
The patient was later admitted to Groote Schuur Hospital for further treatment.
At this point it is not yet clear whether the suspects escaped with anything, but police are investigating the incident.
