As the winter season approaches, the Red Cross has already begun making provisions should flooding occur in informal settlements across the City.
The Red Cross’s David Stevens says that the organisation is collecting warm blankets, and non-perishable food items, should the need for these items arise.
“The Red Cross is there to offer the help, services, human resources and volunteers, to make sure that government achieves its end,” said Stevens.
If anyone is interested in making donations to aid the cause, clothing, blankets and food items (canned foods, etc.) can be dropped off at Bush Radio, 330 Victoria Road Salt River.
