Cabinet says that it could take four to 14 months before new government departments are up and running.
After the recent restructuring, the country now has 34 ministries. Government spokesperson Themba Maseko told reporters that Minister in the Presidency Collins Chabane had given the assurance that the process of setting up new departments would not take up 18 months like before.
But he added that all the correct procedures would be followed.
The cabinet did not forget to congratulate Bafana Bafana on their 2-0 victory in the Confederations Cup against New Zealand last night. Government wished the team well for their next match against Spain.
