NSRI Table Bay was called out by Transnet National Ports Authority following reports of a kite-surfer injured on Milnerton's Lagoon Beach.
NSRI spokesperson Craig Lambinon said volunteers, SAPS, Metro Ambulance and Rescue Services and Cape Town Fire and Rescue Services responded.
"On arrival on-scene resuscitation efforts commenced on a 38 year old male from Bloubergstrand, who had sustained head injuries after he had reportedly been blown out of the water and was blown against rocks adjacent to the beach in front of the Lagoon Beach Hotel,” said Labinon
Despite resuscitation efforts by the Metro paramedics the injured kite-surfer was declared dead on the scene.
