The National Sea Rescue Institute says it is not sure whether the whales which were returned to the sea did survive.
Craig Lambinon said they will monitor in the next three days with the authorities and they will decide how to deal with the ones washed ashore.
“We are urging people who are traumatised by the event to get trauma counselling”
The NRSI received a huge assistance from the public and Lambinon stated that “the most humane outcome was achieved”
Lambinon also thanked the public for providing assistance and the outcome of the day was very tragic.
