Western cape Premier has approved a Mitchell’s Plain project that will benefit people for both Mitchell’s plain and Khayelitsha.
Major of Cape Town Dan Plato said the 450 000 housing backlog would be slashed by projects like these.
Watergate Estate an Urban Renewal program project has been dubbed the Gateway to Mitchell’s Plain, is a R1.2 billion development that is set to benefit more than 2500 families with a monthly income of R 5 000 to R10 000 a month.
“The state, the private sector, the bankers and all the relevant role players working together to put down 45 00 units of more affordable housing said Zille.
Zille asked as to where do you get an affordable house that is payable for a period of more than 20 years under the current financial crisis.
