The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa says there is no excuse for poor service by cell phone operators and should phone calls be dropped, lines crossed and speaker echoes continue, operators will face big fines in future.
ICASA released its End User and Subscriber Service Charter today.
It will take effect in 30 days time and will give ICASA the power to fine operators if their network quality drops below a certain standard.
Their performance will be measured over a period of six months.
