Leaders of political parties’ honour Mandela Day

The Celebrations of honouring Tata Nelson Mandela Day are held nation wide today.

The big rally of the African National Congress is in East London, in the Eastern Cape, the province where this world icon was born.

Meanwhile, the main Mandela Day event in Gauteng is at Mary Fitzgerald Square in Johennesburg where he lives now.

South African political party leader’s have also wishes Madiba a well happy birthday.

“The Independent Democrats want to wish a very special birthday and we welcomed the call for ordinary people around the world to dedicate the 67 minutes of their time to the community service”, said ID leader Patricia De Lille.

De Lille is going to help with community work in Tygerberg hospital by painting and cleaning the hospital and she is also visits the Nazareth House.

“The African Christian Democratic Party wishes Tata Nelson Mandela a very special blessed, peaceful and happy birthday”, said ACDP leader Rev. Kenneth Meshoe.

Former president and freedom fighter is turning 91, and 67 years working for a better South Africa.
