The South African Municipal Worker’s Union and the Independent Municipal and Allied Trade Union strike finally ended yesterday.
This is after the South African Local Government Association has reached a wage agreement with workers unions Samwu and Imatu.
The agreement will bring an end to days of destructive protest action, which have seen cities across the country trashed by angry workers.
Salga revised its wage offer last night to what amounted to a 13 percent across the board wage increase.
