Employees of the Mass Discounters group will embark on a nationwide strike on Friday.
Workers will take to the streets in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban with a planned stay away by Eastern Cape employees.
The group, comprising of Makro, Game and Dion, are protesting against an unresolved wage dispute.
Also being disputed, is the demand from employees to ban the use of labour brokers in the company.
