Minister makes call for clean audits

Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Sicelo Shiceka, has made a call to all provincial and local government departments to achieve clean audit reports by 2014.
He made the call during the launch of Operation Clean Audits by 2014 in Johannesburg on yesterday.
The operation was launched at a meeting of senior government officials from all spheres of government, as well as the Financial Intelligence Centre, the Standing Committee on Public Accounts and the Accountant General.
The other 600 attendees included Business Unity South Africa, the South African Local Government Association, the Banking Association of South Africa, the development Bank of South Africa, Anti-Corruption Co-ordinating Unit, South African Police Services and Parliament.
