An off duty police constable was stabbed during a robbery late yeaterday afternoon in Du Noon.
Constable Litha Mzukwa , aged 37 years old , was walking to a nearby store with his son, when he was approached by two men.
“ The suspects tried to rob Constable when a scuffle ensued during which he was stabbed in the chest.
“The men took the constables torch after which they fled on foot. The constable was taken to hospital in Milnerton, where he passed away this morning,” said spokesperson Bernadine Steyn.
Mzukwa is survived by his wife, six year old son and 18 year old daughter.
Police have opened a case of murder and robbery for investigation.
