Woman raped in Retreat

The Steenberg FCS unit (Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences unit) are requesting the assistance of the public with a case of rape.

Early last night, a 55 year old woman was allegedly assaulted at a Night Shelter in Retreat. The woman was on her way to the nearest police station to report the incident when she was approached by a man, offering to help her.

“ The woman was offered help by an unknown male, who’s about 50 years old. The man offered to take her to the nearest police station. The woman was then assaulted and raped by this unknown male,” said SAPS spokesperson, Inspector November Filander.
