Woodstock police arrested four suspects in Observatory for two armed robbery incidents early yesterday morning.
Two people were robbed of their cellular phones and cash at gun-point in Coetzee Street and Milton Road. Police were patrolling the area when they followed up on information of the incidents, which led to the arrests.
The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle, which led to a high speed chase. Police caught up with the men on Main Road in Observatory.
The vehicle was searched and three cellular phones and cash were recovered. Police also confiscated a firearm that was allegedly used during the robberies.
The suspects will appear in the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
They face a charge of armed robbery.
